What does a marketing strategy look like in 2022?
"Are there new Facebook algorithms? My traffic is slowly dwindling! My content is boring. I don't understand social media. I don't have the time to do social media. I don't think social media is important. The interwebs confuse me. I don't think I'm doing social media right."
These were comments just from consults this WEEK! If you ended up here, you probably have a few of the above comments, too. The focus for our #marketing in 2022 is going to be engagement! How do we create conversation and get a response from your audience?!
Here's what you need to add to your list in 2022:
1) WHAT DIDN'T WORK?
It's my favorite time of year-- REPORTING & METRICS TIME!
It's a great time to export your numbers in Facebook, Google, your websites or other platforms you use to connect your clients and potential followers. What got the most engagement? What interests them the most from your posts? Did your followers increase over the year? Why did people unfollow your pages or emails?
When you plan your content for 2022, create a profile based on topics that got high click-thru on your posts, develop your employee profiles and pull back the "curtain" on your business to let them see what "day-to-day" operations look like. You'll be surprised how much your engagement increases by "letting them in."
2) CORPORATE BRANDING PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION
If you feel like business has become stagnant, you need an update. The BEST way to do that is a corporate branding session! You need updated pictures, profiles, interior and exterior business images and visual content to stop your audience from scrolling over your posts! People look for QUALITY images that best represent your business. Fuzzy phone photos don't say "elevated, professional business." Sorry, they don't. My corporate branding sessions start at $400 and you get TONS of content for social media and images for your website. Get relevant and modernize your photo arsenal. It's VERY worth the time and money to better connect, visually, with your audience. This gets them STOPPING in their new feeds to see what you have to say! 3) Create Missing Profiles
Maybe you mastered #Facebook this year! Maybe you got some images up on #Instagram in 2021!? Congrats-- we have to start somewhere!! But, this year, I want you to fill in the gaps. First, I want you to have a PERSONAL PROFILE on LinkedIn this year. But, I want you to also create a BUSINESS PROFILE on LinkedIn (or have the owner of the business create one). LinkedIn in is a whole 'nother animal, as I always tell my clients! Is business there? ABSOLUTELY! Can it create leads for your business like Facebook or #IG? Sure! But, it's a different kind of audience. You are connecting with peers. You are sharing your industry information among your business competitors. One reason I LOVE LinkedIn--- the high share rate of information you put out on the platform. If you want to increase rank and visibility, get your content shared thru your peers on LinkedIn. INVALUABLE!!!
4) Blogging/Vlogging
** Cue the eyeroll ** I get it. Not one of my clients enjoys blogging or making videos.
It takes a lot of time. It takes creativity. It takes a lot of structure. Did I mention a lot of time?
Create a quick list of topics you think your clients or potential audience NEEDS TO HEAR FROM YOU in 2022! If you are a realtor and you can get eyes on homes unlike other agents-- BLOG POST. If you have a "HOW TO" article you can share (a video would be even better!!) on how to solve your clients' issues-- BLOG POST. If you provide a security service that all businesses MUST have: BLOG POST! If you are going somewhere (a conference, a vacation, a business networking meeting, etc), take pictures and explain why it's relevant to your audience-- BLOG POST! Get it? Share things that connect, make your audience "think" about your business or give them a tip/trick that solves their problems-- for free! Anything "value-added"creates credibility and authority in your industry--- AND I PROMISE--- they will tune back in to see what you share this year!
Focus on quality this year: Quality Images. Quality Video. We do BOTH. Call us.
Also, BLOG TITLES ARE IMPORTANT! Google is built to find, record and share titles of content with people searching for specific keywords. Think about "WHAT" people are searching for in your industry (the who, what, where, when and whys) and gear your titles based around their search! It's SOO important! "How To Unclog My Sink" "How To Sell MY Home Faster!" "Best Doctor in Fort Worth"-- create titles that capture an audience!
5) GET HELP!
You are the best at your job because That's What You Do! So, if you don't have the time to properly develop your brand and online exposure, That's What WE Do! Staying on top of relevant social media algorithms, engaging content and then monitoring your content takes time. (And it may be time that you don't have). It's OK to ask for help! Maybe you just need someone to take pictures and manage a social media profile or 2. Maybe you need someone to revamp your website so you look more modern. Maybe you need some marketing help to get you started for 6 months or so! You may just need a little marketing strategy to get that edge above your competitors. However you need the help, we're here and we're ready!
