Adding empty content to your social media or website does nothing positive for engagement (or your followers)
You set up a Social Media account because that’s just what businesses do, right?
You post a few funny pictures or memes to get a cheap laugh. You copy an interesting article and share it to your page just to post something for the day. You take a few selfies and post your lunch on your timeline. That should do it.. I'm tired. My followers don't care..
I call this, “Social Medi-ocre.”
Tell me what you like to read when you have a few minutes of downtime in your day?
Are you clicking through “shared” articles from your favorite businesses?
What makes you stop “scrolling” and start “reading?”
Some people simply trust the credibility of a brand, and they click through whatever content or shared links/articles posted on their social media or website for the day. This company has created great credibility and authority to get their audience to trust the content they share on their sites!
For most of us, shared links might get a few "likes" and maybe 1 or 2 actual readers.
But, your followers aren't really doing anything with your shared link.
For most followers, engagement happens through strong, relevant content that ASKS something of the audience.
So what is engaging content?
Engaging content shows your audience a level of expertise about your business or industry. Maybe your business goes above the “standard” service, or maybe you have a new product that blows all of your competitors out of the water!
What is the value in your business?
There are only so many baby or puppy faced “Almost the Weekend” memes an audience wants to see a day. Aww, heartstrings….. boring. {BORING.}
It's cheap posting. It's Easy. EVERYONE does it.
So, this is your big chance to STOP THE SCROLLING MADNESS... and connect.
Send your audience home for the weekend wanting to come back and see what you have to say. Make them want to read more about your upcoming events, your business practices, or your interesting methods to create your unique products.
Hit your potential client where it counts! Give your clients real insight into why they NEED your services. Explain why you know something better than anyone else within 1,000 miles of your business that no one else can provide them.
I would rather have my clients post nothing instead of posting “trash content” to their social media or blogs. I say this a few times a day to clients..
Take a few minutes a day to connect with clients: Genuinely.
Make your audience content with your content. ;)
